The cyber challenge
Paul Handy, global head of cyber, looks at the challenges for cyber in a hardening market with reduced capacity, geopolitical challenges and changing underwriting appetite. There are market concerns around aggregated exposure, sanctions and related risks attaching to both longer-tail third party exposures and/or short tail operational or first party risks.
All of the above is driving a focus on wordings, cost of risk transfer and pricing, re-insurance provisions to include consideration of limits, attachment points and/or in-built co-insurance arrangements.
